Welcome to our Leaders Information

Adult leaders work directly with the girls who are members of Rainbows. Brownies, Guides and Senior Sec
tionIt can be a challenging job but is a very rewarding one.

Adult leaders go through the Adult Leadership Qualification (ALQ) and can undertake training in other areas.  The ALQ is not as scary as it might sound as it is done at the pace of the individual and is achieved as you experience and take charge of meetings, events and the girls themselves.

Not every adult in a unit chooses to do the ALQ, we welcome unit helpers and occasional helpers

One of the most common myths about Leaders in Guiding is that we get paid to do the job.  Guiding is entirely voluntary and the only money leaders receive is return of expenses for equipment etc.  The money the leaders take in each year from the girl is known as 'subs' and this money is used to buy equipment, badges, books and anything else the unit may need.

Here at Luxembourg we are always looking for new vounteers.  If you would like to know more about becoming a Leader, unit helper or occassional helper with no obligation to join please get in touch through emailing This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
